Okay I was utterly disgusted today walking down the streets of manhattan.
They were giving away free gum near where I work because Extra came out with a new flavor. And literally the three blocks around where the guy was giving out the gum were covered with little pink gum wrappers.
I saw 8 people just drop the wrappers on the floor right in front of me. There are garbage cans on every single block in the city - how hard is it to walk the 10 steps to the garbage can and throw it out? I just don't understand how people can have absolutely no sense of responsibility or pride in the city where they work / live. No wonder NYC is a dump.
I guess I'm a little sensitive to this, but I know that in Japan for instance, no one would dream of just dropping something on the ground like that. And for the most part, they don't have public garbage cans available there. (I heard it had to do with someone leaving a bomb in one once).

Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness is the motto for a factory that makes such wonderful things like independent and creative thought and progressive equality, but out of the chimney it pumps the pollution of selfishness everywhere.
you can even see specks of it in your clothes.
