  • Sometimes I wish I were a truly great writer.  Or a truly great story-teller.  My mom is one of those people who can take any story and make it vivid and vibrant.  The story of my mother's life, the story of my sister's life...the two people I respect most for their courage, strength, and endurance, I wish that I could write these down, because while they are incredibly sad, it really shows the tenacity of the human race, and especially mothers.  I don't think that I could face the hardships that my mother or sister had every day for years and years and not break down/run away/go insane.  They tell me that being a mother gives you strength you could never imagine, but I'm a selfish, lazy being.  I don't think kids would change that.  Maybe that's why I'm so afraid to have children.  Being a parent means being more than what I feel I am able to be.

  • Wow, flash flood in NYC.  I hear that on some roads, the water was up to the license plates of the cars.  Subways were really backed up today due to flooding in the tunnels.  Of course, I acted all annoyed by it when I actually got to work 1.5 hours late but secretly I was like "yesh!"  Now if only I'd known and slept in that extra hour.

Hope the subways are fixed by the time I go home today.

So NCSSM reunion is coming up in a month.  It's Oct 8 - 10.  Although the big event I think, is going to be Sat, Oct 9 from like 8-1am I believe.  I hope lots of people are planning to go because I certainly am.

  • I hate how whenever you tell Manhattenites that you miss North Carolina for it's trees, fresh air, long stretches of grass, they'll tell you "Well, you can always go to Central Park," like that is any kind of decent substitute.

Anyway, I was working till 2 AM last nite and it was NOT fun. =(

I could have used a long ramble with flowers and trees and grass.

  • Must...buy...toilet...paper...haha

I didn't realize xanga was automatically billing me for premium service.  I dunno how to turn it off either.  Their links only allow you to upgrade your service. >.<  I don't think $15 for 6 months is worth it considering I only update like once a month...okay maybe even less.

Just a thought from conversations I've been having recently, but I wonder...how many friends ever really live up to your expectations?  I don't think it happens all that often.  But you have to wonder, are people's expectations unreasonable, or are we all just bad friends?

  • Anyone see Shrek 2 lately?  Puss in Boots is my favorite animated character ever, I think.

    Wish I had a cat like that.....cute!

Okay I knew Japan was ridiculous with cell phones and all, but this is reaching a new level of ridiculosity.  I want one so bad!

By the way, does anyone know where I can download Asian (kpop jpop) ringtones for a Samsung S307 phone?

  • Finally~ an ending I have looked forward to for the last 3 or so years.  Goodbye Princeton~!  I had some good times, and some bad times, but I will be glad to be moving on to the next stage in life.

A link to some of the more memorable moments of my Princeton life.

    The first annual Freddy awards

    My favorite awards:

Most awkward moment: Hearing Tracy Morgan rant and swear at the Princeton student body while making absurdly inappropriate comments that had everyone in Dillon shifting in their seats. If you had to miss the event for a colonoscopy, don't worry, you had more fun than those of us who went. The only time I've ever felt so awkward was ordering a burger at Frist next to Peter Singer.

Most Frustrating Experience: Trying to come up with a new OIT password. Sorry, your password is not valid because it is based on the dictionary word "nealuocktun609." What?

Most Ridiculous Media Attention: Newman's Day 2004. Stop the presses! College students Drink Too Much for a Stupid Reason.

    =)

And...I got a job offer!  Actually, it may be two.  I've got one more final round interview tomorrow and then I should know by Wednesday whether or not I get a second job offer.  But for now it looks like I will at least have a nice cushion ($55K a year plus up to 10% bonus).  The best part is that if I stay for 5 years, I will earn a 6 week paid sabbatical, on top of my regular vacation days.  I'm planning on a nice long trip, maybe to Europe, or Asia (anyone want to join me?).

And so, I will be living in NYC, with Rob.  Come and visit me~~~~.  Especially Joan & Cindy.  I had so much fun with you guys, er girls rather, last time.  Miss just hanging with the girls (sometimes ^o^).

Oh, if anyone is near Princeton this weekend, come visit.  It's reunions weekend so that means free beer~.  I'll be getting super smashed~ yes me, drinking. =)  And where are all my graduation gifts hmm? =P jk.
