  • muahahhaa - embarrassing baby photos of rob!

    Rob and his dad.

    Rob and his sister Tracy

Rob when his dad graduated from Stanford Grad School

Rob passed out from a long day of...eating?...sitting?...crying?

Hehe gotta love those school photos

Rob's dad in junior high school I think.  Maybe high school.  He's the fourth one from the left.  I love how everyone's posing like they're cool and 'tuff'.

  • Okay, I've been meaning to put up pictures from my Japan/Korea trip for a while.  So here they are - enjoy =)

My new sister-in-law walking down the aisle.  She was very pretty that day. =)

    They say their 'I Do's

Family on a train to the hot springs.

And off to Jejudo for a family honeymoon.  I know it's kind of odd, but given the circumstances, it was really quite nice.

Hyatt hotel in Jeju - quite stunning

Mom and dad - so cute!

    The newlyweds.

    Newlyweds again.

Apparently in the old days (and maybe still!) Jejudo islanders raised their pigs on human feces.  mmm yum.......

Dad's so happy to see a naked female statue....

After jejudo we went to Pusan and met my uncle and cousins (older and younger sister above) for the first time.  They're all really nice though.

My cousin's daughter.  She's so adorable.  Still, I'm partial to my sister's kids.

We met my dad's eldest sister too. She's now around 80 I think.  Huge age gap.  I love that my digi cam can take black and white pics.

We went by my dad's "go-hyang", where he grew up.  This is where his house used to be but it got torn down.  Apparently a 5 mile hike or so to get to school...I don't think I could do it everyday.

My dad grew up by the sea so we went to look, but they'd closed off the whole shoreline because of fear of invasion from No. Korea.

Then we climbed up Seorak mountain - the highest one in Korea i think - but my shoes were a little inappropriate and I had trouble getting down.  So I took off my shoes and went in socks! Hehe, the old ladies coming up behind me were funny.  They said, 'wow, look, they make shoes that look like socks now.  what'll they think of next?'

My mom went crazy at the local market.  She lives for this stuff.

And of course while I was in Korea, I had to go play with my best friend Joan. =) I'm so lucky that she was there while I was visiting.  I had a blast, thanks for showing me a good time!

Joan's all pink!  Well, what'd you expect? A little blurry but, you get the idea.

  • Okay I gave in and did one of these things - I don't know about myself, but the first three traits match Rob pretty well.  After that - it's kind of out of order.

    Your dating personality profile:

Funny - You laugh often. People never accuse you of lacking a sense of humor. You don't take yourself too seriously.
Wealthy/Ambitious - You know what your goals are and you pursue them vigourously. Achieving success is important to you.
Adventurous - Just sitting around the house is not something that appeals to you. You love to be out trying new things and really experiencing life.

    Your date match profile:

Funny - You consider a good sense of humor a major necessity in a date. If his jokes make you laugh, he has won your heart.

  • Woo! Go UNC! I just won $130 =P

Time to go splurge on something nice for lil ole me

April 4, 2005

  • Me: Mom, what do you think about doing this for the wedding?

Mom: That's stupid. I don't know why you'd want to do it that way. My way is sooo much better.

Me: But I really think this would suit me, and be less stressful for me.

Mom: Fine, I don't care.  If your mind's made up, I don't know why you even bother to ask me.  Why don't you just plan it all and send me an invitation.  I'll just show up at the wedding and that will be that.

Okay, I know we're supposed to honor our parents, but there are some days I really find it hard to be grateful.  I mean really REALLY hard.

  • Okay, thanks to UConn and Wake Forest - lazy butts - my entire NCAA bracket is shot unless UNC manages to win it all - and they'd better! I want to win the damn $130.

  • It's my birthday~!

Erm, but looks like I'll be working hard today.  Boo.

Well, I'm taking tomorrow off so I guess it's okay.

So...I'm voting today for the first time ever, kind of exciting. Not that I think my vote will make much difference but hey, I'm living in a democratic country, I should take advantage of that.  What surprises me more is that after 20 years of being wholly indifferent to the presidential election, my parents actually are quite involved and opinionated on the subject.  It gets me all psyched up too.

  • My sister is like super mom.  It is so hard to wake up my neice and nephew in the morning, convince my niece to wear something other than t-shirt and jeans, pack their lunches, make sure their homework is done, and get them out to the bus-stop in time.

    I'm so tired...
